Call Baily.
1-833-ASKBAIL

No hold music, no call center, no 12-way lead dump. Call 1-833-ASKBAIL (1-833-275-2245) and you reach Baily directly — a licensed-GC-trained AI concierge who can start a remodel scope, book a consultation, verify a contractor license, or transfer you straight to Netanel Presman (CSLB #1105249). Voice and SMS use the same number.

When to call, when to chat

Voice and chat point at the same Baily agent and the same panel of licensed contractors. Which channel fits depends on what you're holding in your hand and how quickly you need a decision.

Call when…

  • You're driving back from a walkthrough and want to talk through what you saw before it fades.
  • You have five minutes and typing feels slow — scope is faster out loud.
  • You're worried you hired a bad contractor and need a human voice, fast. Press zero at the menu.
  • You want a licensed GC to call you back today and you'd rather not type your address.
  • You need to verify a license number someone just emailed you — Baily reads it back and confirms or flags it.

Chat when…

  • You have photos to upload (moldy cabinet, crack in a slab, an old bid you want reviewed).
  • You want a written trail — the chat transcript exports as PDF you can show a lender or a permit office.
  • You're at work and can't take a call, but you have a lunch break to type through the scope.
  • You're comparing three contractors' bids side by side — paste them into chat and Baily lines them up row by row.
  • You prefer to type in Spanish and want the reply in Spanish — the web chat defaults to your browser language.

What Baily can do when you call

The phone line runs the same agent Baily runs on the web. Four lanes are wired in: scope start, consult booking, license check, and transfer to a licensed GC. Each lane ends with a concrete next step — no dead-end recordings.

  1. Press 1

    Start a remodel scope

You describe the project in your own words. Baily records the turn, transcribes it, and writes back a scope summary: room type, rough square footage, permit flags (seismic, energy, historic preservation), cost band, and which regulator owns the permit for your address. Within one business day, a licensed GC from our panel calls you to walk through it.

  2. Press 2

    Schedule a consultation

Baily collects the project address, a rough budget band, and two windows of time you're available. The GC calls back within one business day. There is no fee, no contract, no deposit, and no pressure to sign on the spot. You are under zero obligation after the visit.

  3. Press 3

    Verify a contractor license

Read out a license number (or a contractor's name) and Baily checks six regulators — California CSLB, Florida CILB, New York DOB, Illinois IDFPR, Texas TDLR, and Washington L&I. Baily confirms whether the license is active, what classifications it covers, whether any complaints or enforcement actions are on file, and when it expires. For the other 44 states, Baily points you at the regulator's lookup page and transfers you to a human if you want hand-holding.

  4. Press 0

    Transfer to a licensed GC

You skip Baily and go straight to Netanel Presman at NP Line Design (CSLB #1105249) during business hours, or to another licensed GC on our panel outside those hours. The call is answered in person — not by a call center. If we can't reach a human in 25 seconds, the call rolls to a voicemail routed to both SMS and email and we respond within one hour during business days.

Privacy, recording, and the fine print

We take call privacy seriously because the alternative — lax recording policy — is how homeowner phone numbers end up in lead-reseller databases. Everything below is enforced by the code, not by a promise.

Recording disclosure. Before any turn is recorded, Baily tells you it is recording. In California, Florida, Illinois, and the other nine two-party- consent US states, Baily asks for explicit consent and you can opt out by pressing 9. In one-party-consent states Baily discloses and proceeds unless you object; you can always say "stop recording" and Baily complies mid-turn. Germany and France calls are never recorded due to EU and national law constraints on unilateral business-call recording.

Retention. Routine recordings and transcripts are deleted after 30 days. Recordings tied to a customer dispute are retained for 365 days from the dispute opening, then deleted. You can request earlier deletion for any call by emailing [email protected]; we process deletion within 7 business days and confirm in writing.

TCPA and autodialer posture. AskBaily does not use predictive dialers, ringless voicemail, or bulk auto-dialing. Every outbound call is a response to a homeowner-initiated request (a form fill, a chat turn, or an inbound call asking for a call-back). We never call numbers scraped from public records, marketplaces, or data brokers.

CCPA + GDPR. California residents get the full CCPA toolkit (right to know, right to delete, right to opt out of sale). There is no sale — AskBaily does not sell homeowner data to anyone, including our own GC panel, who only receive the minimum scope details needed to call you back. EU and UK callers are covered by GDPR with AskBaily as the data controller; see the voice privacy policy for controller contact and DPA details.

Do-not-call list. We honor federal DNC registry, CA DNC, and any state DNC within 24 hours of receiving a suppression request. If you ever want to be removed from AskBaily outbound, say "add me to do not call" on any call or text the same phrase to 1-833-ASKBAIL.

Accessibility

TTY and relay service. The AskBaily line supports all US carrier TTY relay services. Dial 711 from your TTY device and ask the operator to connect you to 1-833-275-2245. Calls relayed through the operator are covered by the same privacy policy as direct calls — we never store the operator's identity.

Text-based equivalence. Every lane that works on the voice line also works end-to-end via SMS. If you prefer text for any reason — deafness, hearing difficulty, speech difference, or a noisy environment — text 1-833-ASKBAIL and you get the same Baily, same GC panel, same decisions.

ASL video consult. For American Sign Language speakers we schedule a video consult with a licensed GC and an ASL interpreter at a time you pick. Request this by saying "I need ASL interpretation" on the voice line, or by texting the same phrase.

Low-vision and screen-reader support. This page renders with WCAG 2.1 AA contrast on the cream and cognac palette, semantic landmarks (header, main, footer), descriptive ARIA labels, and a single h1 per page. The call and SMS links are native tel: and sms: anchors so screen readers announce them correctly. If something is hard to read or hard to activate, email [email protected]; we fix accessibility issues inside 48 hours.

Language access. English and Spanish are first-class on the voice line. For Mandarin, Tagalog, Korean, Armenian, and Russian we use a live interpreter service — say "I need a Spanish interpreter" (or any supported language) at the greeting and Baily hands off to the interpreter bridge.

Frequently asked questions

What is 1-833-ASKBAIL?

1-833-ASKBAIL (275-2245) is the AskBaily phone line. Call it and you reach Baily, our remodel scope concierge. You can start a project scope, book a consultation, verify a contractor license, or transfer to a licensed general contractor. It is not a call center and there is no hold music.

Is this a real human or an AI agent?

Baily answers first. Baily is an AI agent trained on California and multi-state contractor licensing, permit process, and remodel cost data. If you press zero, or say 'transfer me to a person', Baily hands you to Netanel Presman (CSLB #1105249, NP Line Design) or another licensed general contractor on our panel.

Do you record the call?

Only with your consent. California, Florida, Illinois, and 9 other states require two-party consent, so Baily asks before recording and you can opt out by pressing 9. In one-party states we disclose recording and proceed unless you say no. Full policy lives at /voice/privacy.

What hours can I call?

The phone line is open 24 hours. Baily handles scope and licensing questions any time. Human transfers route during business hours (Mon-Fri 8 AM to 6 PM Pacific); outside those hours we capture your number and a licensed GC calls back within one business day.

Will you sell my number to a lead pool?

No. AskBaily is explicitly not a lead marketplace. Your call, your transcript, and your contact details stay between you and the single licensed contractor we route you to. That is a written commitment — see /commitments.

Can I text 1-833-ASKBAIL instead of calling?

Yes. The same number accepts SMS. Baily handles text and voice the same way — same tools, same licensing data, same routing. SMS sometimes fits better for uploading project photos or pasting a bid you want reviewed.

Is the phone line available in Spanish?

Yes. Baily detects Spanish automatically. If you prefer a human who speaks Spanish, press zero and we route to a Spanish-speaking general contractor on our panel.

What if I have a hearing impairment?

The line supports TTY via your carrier's relay service. You can also text 1-833-ASKBAIL directly — text works end to end, including scope, license checks, and transfer to a human. For ASL we schedule a video consult at a time that suits you.
